Archibald decribes her work as "sometimes dreamy, sometimes fun and funky," with titles such as “Deux Chapeaux,” (Two Hats) “LVB-Bop,” (based on Beethoven’s “Pathetique Sonata”) and “Midnight at Monteton.”  She will also premiere movements from her new cello/piano suite, "Seasons."

Thanks to a Creative Renewal Fellowship from the Arts Council of Indianapolis, Archibald attended The Dordogne International Jazz Summer School (DJSS) last year in the village of Monteton, France. She came back to Indiana inspired to write jazz. Audience members will be the first to hear this new body of work, which she will take back to Monteton as Composer-in-Residence of DJSS. A classically-trained pianist, Archibald will also serve as Composer-in-Residence at Musical Summer at the Mill (MSM), a chamber music school in Rouen, France. MSM will present the world premiere of her new piano trio, “There was once on a time a miller. . . ”
