Global Peace Initiatives supports the participation of public walks as an exercise for peace consciousness development. Global Peace Initiatives sponsored Peace Hikes involve people in a mindful process of walking meditation. With a focus on walking in beauty, walkers begin to see the power of nature and the miracles around them.
People improve their health, reduce their stress and make a connection with the world around them in a personal way. While walking, walkers also engage in the highest form of peacemaking, service. They do this as they walk and pick up trash, leaving less of a footprint on the earth and in their neighborhoods. This mindful service while simply walking through the parks and streets of our communities promotes awareness, participation and ownership.
Over the past five years Global Peace Initiatives has focused our Peace Hike delivery in the Art and Nature Park at the Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA). Start your weekend out right on the Meditation Peace Hike. We depart from inside the IMA Efroymson Family Pavilion Entrance at 5:30pm on Friday.
Join us and have fun! We hike in any and all kinds of weather. We relish any weather as part of the miracle of nature and the world around us.
