How do we do it?

• We develop farmers and run a farmer's cooperative and market at Peaceful Grounds, which improves access to more local food.
• We feed the hungry and enrich the community – through our Peace Gardens
• We walk the walk – through our Peace Hikes
• We nurture our spiritual selves – through our Peace Rituals

Our opportunities for learning and service are great. We learn by doing in a place based setting with project oriented development strategy for the individual as well as the communities in which we serve. Global Peace Initiatives serves as a Regional Outreach Training Center for the one and only Growing Power. Growing Power is a Milwaukee, WI. based non-profit and land trust that was founded in 1996 Their mission is to support people from diverse backgrounds by helping to provide equal access to healthy, high-quality, safe and affordable food. Growing Power implements this mission by providing training, outreach and technical assistance through the development of Community Food Systems that help people grow, process, market and distribute food in a sustainable manner.  We are proud to serve as a regional outreach training center for Growing Power.
